Meinl Bongos

Just picked up a pair -- nice sound, will cut well, but didn't notice in the shop and underlying ring from the frame.... is this typical of bongos? Or just Meinl 'free ride ' bongos? For live work barely noticeable, but for recording it might be annoying. Haven't put a mic over them yet.

Anyway, might take them back tomorrow and exchange for LP Professional Grade II. Any opinions?

Sounds like it is the metal shell. They will do that. If you don't like it, take them back and get wood shell bongos.
