sacrilege? but kind of cool

I shuddered on first seeing the pics in this craigslist ad. It looks like someone took a cool, vintage Ludwig cocktail bass drum/floor tom and turned it into a table?!

Upon reading the ad, the table top is removable, but c'mon, drums aren't furniture! Which tangentially brings to mind the question of drum collectors - those who buy a lot of great kits, don't play them, and keep them in a warehouse. Why bother? Drums are instruments, meant to be played and not turned into furniture...

It looks salvageable. Hopefully no extra holes - just maybe needs a new top hoop.
