So want to be able to trigger some custom sounds while playing live. What all do I need? Can I get a few drum pad triggers and hook them up to logic and trigger my sounds? Recommendations for pads and, if necessary, module? Thanks

Doable, but you'll need some kind of bridge between Logic and your triggers to convert the signal to midi. Alesis makes something called a Trigger I/O specifically for this purpose. I have a couple Roland PD6 pads I got used on eBay for like $15 a piece, and I use some triggers I made myself. Pads are pads in my opinion, unless you want something like a V-drum, which will be expensive. Aquarian also is coming out with inHEAD, which is an acoustic drumhead with triggering built in. They debuted at this year's NAMM show; Google it and check out some videos, they're pretty cool.

i use drum triggers with ableton live. I don't use a trigger to midi interface, but just my audio interface.
