Gretsch strainer - new at namm this year

What do you think about this?

Gibraltar has introduced a NEW Microsensitive throwoff this year at NAMM.

I say pretty cool...

Yes - good news!
Especially for people that have those Gretsch Vintage drums from the 50's/60's with ....the very "sensitive" microsensitive strainer if you know what I mean.

It can be a real pain to locate one .....when they're on eBay you can pay up to $300 (there's been one on there for $295 for a while now). I paid $200 and thought I got a deal. The think is - they tend to break down easily and then you have to make your own part/s or go and hunt another down.
They were only $12 new back in the day.

I don't think by making these "new" strainers that Gibraltar/Gretsch will be hurting the Vintage industry if you will. I say that because it will always be nice to have the original...the original adds to the value of a vintage item not only monitarily but sentimentally. So no harm there. It's a win/win = you get to keep your vintage throwoff....store it (in a glass case lol) and use the NEW Gibraltar throw.....that's pretty cool in my books.

Cool. Interesting, An easier to find, and much cheaper alternative may come to you as a surprise. I am very impressed with it's simplicity.
