| Drum Kit (desktop?) for BFD/DFHS? Advice needed! thanks OK, just got BFD updates XXL, if I use the keyboard it's pretty cool, also tried the Jamstix which seems very very cool. Anyway, for now I am using a keyboard....the BFD has more velocity than my keyboard does really, that's why I am wondering about a PAD that I can use with stick... can anyone recommend something that works well and has lots of velocity that I can use with sticks and foor pedal? FOR NOW, can someone recommend a good way to create parts using a keyboard, then create a section at a time and then somehow use cubase to help out the part to sound more realistic? Not sure if this post makes any sense but giving it a shot regardless. What I mean is that BFD has a lot of layers (like DFHS of course) that using the keyboard just can cut it say compared to a electronic trigger drum set and drum sticks, which brings me to the second point...I'm looking for something that I can use drum sticks with without having to but a full SPACE TAKING electronic drum kit. Something that I can tap, slam, pound, or lightly hit on the desk top while also using a foot pedal...I'm a decent drummer (guitar is my thing though) but feel like using sticks with something that will really allow me to use the many layers with sticks would be quicker than pads or keyboard....the variation would be easier to do I think (velocity) whereas the keyboard (although it does have aftertouch and a few settings) I tend to have a heavy hand so most of the hits sound the same and to get the ride for example to sound like a light ringing (bell) I have to touch the keyboard very VERY lighty, which as a result defeats the creative flow. So I am looking for something to hook up to BFD, and later, DFHS. Thanks Again. and appreciate any HARDWARE links, especially those that sit on the desktop and can connect a high hat and bass pedal! ![]() |

| KAT is the thing. IIRC, kick pedal can be a separate MIDI device, so it doesn't have to work with the other MIDI device you end up using. How about getting a real hihat to use with BFD? IMO, that's the best way to make really convincing MIDI drums. |
