Ludwig snare shell stamped Q.A.V?

Hi, Someone gave me a Ludwig an 8 lug 5x15 snare drum. Must be a student drum from the 70's. The inside is gray speckeled. I removed two layers of wrap. The outer layer was a thin chrome sheet and the inner layer was a thick white rubbery type wrap which was glued at one seem. Under the wraps stamped in black on the shell are the letters Q.A.V. Does anyone know what these letters stand for? It also has a cheep round muffler. Thanks, Don

I don't know but I know a man who does!

Hi, I have a friend that is an expert in that kind of thing, he deals a lot of vintage Ludwig stuff, I'll ask him tomorrow when I see him and let you know

Post it over at drumforum.org - there's some ludwig experts over there that should be able to help.
