Good used price for Yamaha Recording Custom?

I have been offered a Recording Custom kit with 5 toms (10, 12, 13, 14, 16), kick (22) and snare (7x14) for $850. Assuming they're in good shape (I haven't seen them yet), is this a good deal?

Seems like it would be, but I wanted to see what you drum slutz are thinkin'. I know these a great kits and it would be blast to have one to play whenever.

If you can, play them and check out their condition. Make sure they weren't stored in someones garden shed for a couple of Fargo winters...

If they are in good shape, I'd say that's a great deal!

I should add, having all those toms would lend a huge amount of versatility if you were tracking a few songs in a day, you could swap out different sizes to fit the key and mood of the song. Or just go Neil Peart on the session and throw em all up, maybe add your neighbours drumkt to the mix as well...

Well, I thought the better of it and passed on buying them. It would've been a somewhat "sideways" move instead of an upgrade from my Maple Custom's. I'm still more interested in finding the perfect Ludwig kit with a 24" kick.
