Best Yamaha kit for recording

I need to purchase a full kit for our studio, whilst i would love a Tama or DW but I get a 'dealer' rate on all yamaha products - import taxes on Tama / DW are crazy so the yamaha makes sense to our pockets if not our hearts!

I guess either the 'recording' series or the new Phoenix "PHX" series

It needs to be a pretty diverse kit that can work on many styles advice please!

TIA

The PHX line sounds great but they are CRAZY expensive! Personally, I would go for the Maple Custom Absolutes. They are maple drums which are very versatile, they have a nice warm tone and they are reasonably priced.

I have a mixed kit (Maple Custom Absolute kick and Birch Custom Absolute toms). This is the best of both worlds in my opinion.

The wait time alone on those PHX kits will have you without a kit for quite a while.
