does the DW9000 pedal design bother anyone else?

I find it odd that the DW9000 single pedal has the beater hitting almost an inch off center to the right of the kick drum.

Seems odd when the meat of the sound is clearly in the center.

Am I alone on this?

Mine hits dead center. I love that pedal.

??? how is that? you can see that the beater sits off to the right. Is there an adjustment that I am missing?http://www.gearslutz.com/board/attac...1&d=1258519387http://www.gearslutz.com/board/attac...1&d=1258519486

While fooling around with my 20" kick drum, I discovered that hitting a little off center sounds better - more presence - so maybe they did it on purpose?

Same for me on my 22". I have my beater set so it hits about an inch higher than dead center. I tried dead center and didnt like it as much. It had a funky sounding decay. This was with the felt side of the beater though, I havent tried it with the hard side.
