Thread Starter | Pearl export snare..when was it made
I'm trying to figure out when this snare was made. I picked it up for 20 bucks..so I don't really care. However, it just doesn't look like most of the export snares I've seen. It says made in taiwan in the bottom right corner of the badge and has no serial #. What confuses me is that most export steel snares seem to have 2-4 horizontal lines going through the middle. This one is smooth all the way around. Here. ![]() Thanks in advance.

This is only a guess.... but I believe that it is from the 80's. It looks like an early export model.

I had this exact same snare with my export kit in 1995. They made this model in the mid 1990's. It's a very good snare, in fact all the export series then had the long lugs- and were a great, durable set of drums. Congrats, looks like you got a good deal! |
