Floating Floor Tom Feet

Yay or nay?
What brand?
What did you feel the difference was?

I am looking to get more of the kind of sound I get from recording a floating rack out of the floors (which are huge in this case).

Yeah, that's basically what you'll get on the floor tom as well, more sustain/resonance, more lows, less choked.

Less choked sounds good. Thanks.

Pearl or Gibraltar... they're only $10 a set, so it doesn't cost much to try them out.

I think they do make a difference (and won't get lost like sticking foam under the feet - which does work about the same)

If you want to go whole hog, there is a RIMS mount for floor toms

pricier but then the legs are not only decoupled from the floor, the legs are decoupled from the drum as well..

Were your floor toms in a car accident?
That thing looks dangerous.

I've used these on a few old kits. Def iso'd the toms a little more, but I missed that full on sympathetic ring a little. Where it sounds like a kit, ya know.. Depends what your looking for at the time..

I guess they don't. Those are just regular feet in the photo.

But if you use the isolation 'feet' as well as the rims mount - then the legs would be decoupled from the floor

The Pearl ISO feet are simple to use and work well. The drum sings and sounds fat.
