Thread Starter | "The Meters" drum recordings
Hi! There are threads about somewhat similar sounds, but I am still curious to what kind om mics/positioning were used on older the Meters albums such as "Struttin'" f.ex. I am guessing one overhead plus kick and maybe a snare mic. But it would be interesting to know a little more specifics!F.ex was the kick miced outside, was the resonant head whole etc.? It is a great sound from an obviously very talented drummer!! |

You might get some info by looking up "Cosimo Matassa" or "Cosimo Recording Studio". Matassa is in charge of that recording and he did develop the New Orleans Sound.
