I'm really sorry to hear that - I allways wanted to check one of his snares

Best wishes and prayers to his family

I know this thread is really old, but I don't know where else to ask this:

I'm a beginning drummer and I just bought my first acoustic snare. I found it in the back room of a drum shop... sitting on the floor. It's a Slingerland wood snare 14x5, I think.

Anyway inside the shell, it's signed:

Paul Bleifuss
6-8-95

Being that he made his own drums... I'm kinda wondering if this was a snare he once owned... perhaps before he started making his own stuff.

Anybody know where I could get more info? I guess I'm wondering 1) did he own it? and 2) when did he start making his own drums?

Go over to presroll.net and ask Mike Curotto. He'll probably know.

hey there, I think if it's a slingerland drum, with badge-- You probably have a drum that Paul did the edges on. He became well known in the san diego/LA area as the guy to get your drums dialed in, before he started making his own. Cherish it. One of the best guys in the world put some love into those edges!
