edrums and such

hey there drum experts

im not a drummer(bass player/songwriter)
but i want to put some kind of edrum kit in my writers studio
i have researched various companys, roland, hart, ret percussion and whoever else
i could find!

my budget is around 2k to 2500
what im looking for is any feedback on these various kits from folks
who have used them in the studio, particularly with programs like bfd or toontraks, oceanway ect...

any input would be greatly appreciated

I'm in the same position. I'd like to also know if it's better to buy an acoustic set and use triggers on the heads so the drummer feels more comfortable?

Do triggers like Roland has work well enough, or should I be looking at an electronic set for best performance/recording?
