Hi,

A)
-We would like to trigger pre-recorded wave files LIVE (Like an orchestra that would play)

B)
-We would like to trigger samples live (WAV samples like steven slate)

Are there any machines who can do A/B or both?

Hi Blor007,

there are lots of options out there for doing what you want.

some hardware solutions for you to investigate:

Muse Receptor
SM Pro V Rack
Roland SPDs
DDrum 4 SE

Axis Drum Pedals with the add on midi trigger that can align with the acoustic kick by triggering just before the beater hits the drumhead so that the sample plays in sync with the acoustic drum!

There are lots of solutions out there that can take your studio production to the stage.

I use the SPDs loaded with samples from my productions for kick and snare using triggers and assign the edge triggers of the SPDs to start/stop, tap tempo and next within Ableton Live on a laptop which has my samples sequenced into it. I can use the tap tempo to let the guitarist start the song unaccompanied and match the tempo of the backing to them. I also route a click from Ableton to a separate output on the soundcard which goes to my in-ear monitors. I have never had this system fail me on a gig!
