DrumCore 2.5 Group Buy ends 5/30

eSoundz has been running a Group Buy on DrumCore 2.5. As the number of buyers increases, the price goes down and another DrummerPack gets thrown onto the pile:

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?P...&refcode=gbrss

As of today, the number of people who have clicked in is up to 150. That means the price has moved down to $109 and the number of included DrummerPacks has moved up to 4, including John Tempesta, Urban GT, Bun E Carlos, and Zoro.

I think the street on DrumCore is $149. Each DrummerPack alone is worth $69, so this is now becoming a smokin' deal.

Personally, I hadn't even heard of DrumCore until this GB, but I found that it's perfect for what I do. Usually, I like to use my Korg Padkontrol or dk10 DrumKat to play beats through Battery, but I've always wanted a great sounding tool for building tracks from loops. DC was my holy grail--seriously! It's both extremely flexible but designed in a way that lets you get what you want very quickly.

I would pay $100 bucks for the Acid/Rex loop librarian alone. Check out the demo. The buy ends next Friday on 5/30. The next threshold is 200 buyers, which will bring the price down to $99 and throw Steve Gadd into the mix.

If you like, you can refer keithadv at check-out. This will give both of us $5 in epointz.

We're clicking along on this pretty well. The buy is over 5/30, but we are actually 3 more buys away from getting the whole thing. We should shoot past that before end of day.

That's DrumCore 2.5 plus 5 DrummerPacks for $99! I don't think you'll ever see a deal anywhere close to that for DrumCore again.

Check it out if you're interested. I'm extremely impressed with DrumCore.

Thought I'd throw this out, the deal just keeps getting better. This was just posted on kvraudio--a new surprise if we hit 300 before EOD Friday. (We're at 282 right now). So that's $99 for stuff with a street (not list) price of well over $500. I love these esoundz folks...

We've gotten a lot of people asking about additional Drummer Packs and downloadable Studio ProFile drummer libraries in various formats like Rex, Apple Loops, Acidized Wave, Kontkat, Stylus RMX, Reason, SampleTank... so, here's what we've got for you. First, we have tons of Drum Core drummer packs now for sale on www.esoundz.com Come by and pick some up. If you buy it before the group buy is over you can email allen (at) esoundz (dot) com and ask him to have it included with your GB product so you don't have to pay additional shipping. But you'd have to buy it by the end of the day Friday for that. Otherwise you can still buy it anytime you want and just pay separate shipping.

We also have 8 downloadable drummers in the Studio ProFile series coming in June... well, that and a few more surprises. But, we're releasing "Drum Masters Silver Edition" which features playable drum kits in GM and I-Map and rex/appleloops/wave/kontakt grooves. Silver is kind of like a "best of" the grooves from the 8 downloadable drummer's groove libraries (some are available now on www.studioprofiles.com which has an esoundz shop built into it) plus the playable drum kits.

Studio ProFiles Drum Masters is coming toward the end of June and it has all of what Silver has but also has multitrack drum kits in Kontakt and BFD2 format.
If you feel like it, you can refer keithadv at check-out and we'll both score $5 in epointz.

One more bit o' news then I stop posting on this one.

In response to several requests, esoundz did a mini-extension of the group buy through 6 PM EST Monday. There will be a hard stop at 6:00. In their words: "Otherwise... that's it! Deal gone forever!"

It's nice of them to do that, since we already got everything plus the special bonus.

So, if you're reading this over the weekend, don't feel bad--you can still get in..

If you're reading this on Tuesday, you can feel terrible.

By the way, there is a gi-normous thread that has grown on kvr during this buy that should answer most questions anyone should have:

Free free to refer keithadv when ordering.

You say you hadn't heard of it a month ago.

The group buy isn't over yet. So did you buy it already at full price?

You claim it's your holy grail. Is this based on using the actual product? the demo? reading the group buy thread? I'm sincerely confused.

I would pay $100 for a great loop/midi/rex organizer, but after spending a hour with the demo, I think this tool lacks too much to be considered great.

Does anyone have any real experience with the product?

All fair questions. When I heard about the Group Buy, I was curious because I had participated in a buy that esoundz had given a couple weeks earlier and was thrilled with what I got. I discovered they have established a track record of offering these amazing, wallet-emptying group buys.

Thing is, though, I had never heard of DrumCore. So, I just happened to be able to "borrow" version 2 (not 2.5) and play with it. I was very excited with what I found, which is the only reason I'd tell others about the buy. I acted a little like an evangalist, I guess, because I wish I'd known about this thing a year or more ago.

Here's the reason I think of it as my holy grail. In my mind, the developers seem to be the only ones who have focused on ease of use in creating nice tracks from loops. I'm not downing BFD or EZD or DKFH or any of the other popular packages. I have tried them but they just didn't seem quite what I wanted. (Haven't tried Addictive, though.) So I have nearly always played my own parts using Battery 3 either with a dk10 KatPad or Korg PadKontrol. I get along with that OK. But sometimes you want a nice customized track in a hurry for whatever reason. The holy grail for me is something that lets you do that.

Like any product, there are things that can be criticized about it. I've heard some people complain that Submersible doesn't always use enough layers when sampling famous kits. (I don't know; I haven't fully checked those out yet. I know that their pads can support up to 10 layers, and now that Sonic Reality is getting more involved in sampling kits for DC I think we'll see more cool things.). I wish you could drag and drop folders into the loop librarian and that it was easier to group import a bunch of samples as fills or hits vs. loops, etc. I think I'd tweak their database structure a bit if I could. I'm not sure if there's any easy way to import groups of non-acid or non-rex audio files that are not the same or unknown BPM.

But having said all that, what I liked was that I could open it via Rewire in Sonar and put together a really nice track in nothing flat, compared to all the other guys I tried. I pulled up some of my existing tunes, muted the existing drum tracks and put down new ones. I was mostly surprised at how easy it was to create something that tracked with the song and maintained your interest. I liked one of them so much that I erased my old drum part altogether, grabbed my bass, and rebuilt the song from the new drum track up!

I love the natural sounding loops--I like the drummers they chose and I think they've been well recorded. They seem to be right in the pocket for me. Since demoing the product, I have bought four drummerpacks in addition to the free ones you get with the group buy. One of them has already arrived and I thought it was a very good value for the money.

As always, it's going to be different strokes for different folks. For me I wanted the fasted way to audition, select, drag, and stretch loops, hits, and fills, and this was it.

You might want to check out the kvraudio link I put in my last post. See what those guys have to say. Some of them seem to be more experienced with the product. I have heard now that some people who already own DrumCore have joined the group buy just to get the additional content for $99!

One of the things I got more information from the kvr group is about a second product that submerisible has called KitCore. Essentially KitCore is a vst pad that lets you trigger any DrumCore kit via MIDI, including any kits found on DrummerPacks. I think of it as a "poor man's Battery" for DrumCore, although it has over 100 kits and a 1,000 midi beats. Doesn't cost a lot (esoundz members can pick up the deluxe version for 73 bucks). I got that, too. I sent esoundz an e-mail and asked if they could throw KitCore into the box with my other group buy stuff so I wouldn't have to pay extra postage and they said "Sure!" which is the typical cool-guy response you get from them.

I hope my rambling has been of some help, Tim.

A final note on my "borrowed" version. I should mention that I don't use stolen software. Like you, however, I sometimes find "demos" unsatisfactory. If I have access to a full version to use as a demo, I do use it. I can tell within a few days if it's going to fit into my workflow (in which case I immediately buy it) or not (in which case I immediately erase it). Nothing gets to hang out in my DAW unless it's paid for!

And (as always), you can refer keithadv at check-out and we'll both score $5 in epointz.
