Thread Starter | Power Station (the band) drum sound
Just curious: How did they get that drum sound on the Power Station album? Why do this? In your opinion, do you like the affect it has on the total sound once the rest on the instruments are playing? I was about 12 when this song was a hit and thought Tony was muting his cymbals after letting them ring for a few seconds. I actually practiced doing this. |

I heard they did drum sampling at the power station then moved on to another studio to do everything else (totally pissing off the power station because they got so little business out of it) Perhaps thats an engineering myth .. But you have to laugh.. Big band, big album, use your studios name and book... just 3 days for drum tracking and goodbye!
