Check this out - New - solid maple shell DW for $299

Hi Everyone.

I thought this post might be of interest for all of you snare junkies out there looking for a good deal.

I have been looking at buying a single ply, steam bent shell for a little while but wasn't interested in spending a lot of money. I had started to look at assembling my own which it looked like I could do for about $400 or so.

By fluke I came across an auction for a new DW Pacifica 5" x 14" solid shell for $399 or Best Offer Including Shipping!!. I thought that was a pretty good deal regardless of where that drum was made

The same seller also had a couple of the same style snares only with a Brich Veneer finish going for $299 OR Best Offer with Free Shipping!!! That is insanely low for a new and completed single ply maple shell snare.

The real kicker for me was that you have a three day evaluation period at which point you can return the item in original condition and original packaging. So if you happen to have extra skins laying around it really is a no lose situation IMHO.

I don't think there are many $299 snares left (one I beleive) and there are a few $399 /Best Offer snares remaining. Both are great deals and the return policy really makes it a can't lose proposition.

Here is a link to the lone remaining $299 snare, I got mine for $280 + $15 shipping to Canada

NEW DW Pacific SXE SOLID Maple Shell Snare Drum 5 X 14 - eBay (item 290191795340 end time Jan-14-08 07:55:27 PST)

Here is a link to the $399/Best Offer Snare - single ply shell with a single ply of Birds Eye Maple for finish. - I think he has more room to move on these, apparently "No reasonable offer will be refused"
