Crashed my car at 17 playing air drums to this song while driving...not a serious accident so it's made a good story/funny memory...ahh Steve Miller in the summertime.

I also like (but have not crashed to):

Rosanna (reminds me of Fool in the Rain)
New Model Army's Inheritance (I think it's called)
My Morning Jacket's cover of Erica Badu's Tyrone

Some great ones listed in this thread, too! Thanks!

"When The Levee Breaks" is IMO the greatest drums of all time by a far leap, but if we are talking about just the coolest Drum intro I would go with "Rock N Roll" also by Bohnam.

straight on red - pat metheny group - (various drummers have done this, I liked the version with armando marcal and paul wertico best)

Race In - Battles - John Stanier

dukes travles - genesis - chester thompson and phil collins

dance into the light - phil collins

not really an intro though just one hell of a drumgroove:

cheating the polygraph - porcupine tree - gavin harrisson

Thanks for playing everyone. Now here are the RIGHT answers..

1. Dyer Maker - Bonzo

2. 50 Ways to Love Your Liver - God (pronounced 'Gadd')

3. Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up - Vinnie "RotoTom" Colliuta with F. Z.

4. Whoever Played the opening beat to Gary Glitter's "Rock n Roll Pt. 2"

5. Swingtown - Steve Miller Band with whoever that great drummer is

6. Lido Shuffle - somebody extremely in the pocket with Boz Scaggs

7. Irresistable B*tch - Prince (don't know why this one jumps out at me. just does)

8. Hawaii Five O Theme - The Ventures (THE riff any aspiring drummer had to play)

9. Wipeout (see above)

10. Loser in the ENd - Roger Taylor on Queen II (mondo cool echo/verb tom madness)

11. We Will Rock You - Roger Taylor, Queen (see above)

12. Almost everything Clyde StubbleField ever did with James Brown

13. Break On Through to the Other Side - (whats-his-face with the Doors)

And 4 others I can't remember. I AM a drummer, after all.

I wonder how many honorary Doctorates of Music Ringo could have if he wanted them.

"Disease" is a great choice, used to love mixing it every night on tour!

Simon Phillips on Jeff Beck's "Space Boogie". it is also one of the most amazing feats of drumming endurance and dynamics ever!

The front of anything that Mickey Curry did with Bryan Adams or Hall and Oates. His intro groove for "Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane.

Everyone else took all the Bonham stuff already!!!!!
