Ahead drum sticks

I just remembered having a pair of metal Ahead sticks about 17 years ago. They were marketed as unbreakable, yet mine turned out somewhat like the pic below (not mine), except it snapped cleanly off the shaft. I remember stopping a song in mid-rehearsal and holding up the stick to show the band, who were all flabbergasted. lol

The feel of these sticks was terrible even back then. The plastic sheath would eventually rattle against the shaft as the sticks got "worn in." Have they gotten any better? (Not that I'd buy them again.) Novel idea... horrible execution.

I don't think the Aheads were sold as unbreakable...just that they will last a lot longer than a wood stick. Many do break these sticks as shown in your pic.

Aquarian has some interesting sticks that I'd like to try out:

I've been wanting to try some of those Aquarians....

I although, have been having a pretty steamy affair with:

eBay: Carbosticks !! Hottest New Carbon Fiber Drum Sticks !! (item 280131672826 end time Jul-12-07 20:00:00 PDT)

i'm not trying to promote the sticks, i just know what I like. And, I DID try to break them, to no avail.

They are also, pretty hard to drop!
