Soundproof Kick Thud?

Hi everyone, I'm wondering what I should use in order to stop the *thud* vibration/sound of a kick pedal on an electric set from transferring through the floor down to my neighbors apartment. I remember reading a post a few months ago but I can't find it. Thanks

If you have enough space, I'd put the kit on a piece of plywood, and put four used tires under that. Garantee you the thud will not transfer into the building structure.

Thanks Jon, although I'm still struggling to find anything real usable. The room has carpet, Is there anything I could put under the kick pedals (double bass) and the kick stand itself on in order to absorb the vibration? There must be something...

Thanks so much!

I had this very problem with Clavia Ddrums in an apt in NYC.

I had the kit on a platform of rubber mats on MDF on Auralex Platfoam or whatever it was called.
It didn't transfer the vibration, but the actual sound/energy of the kick couldn't be tamed. It's difficult. If you have sufficient isolation from the floor, you'll have to get something like thick moving pads (multiple layers) aound the kit.

If that doesn't do it, try:

whisperroom sound isolation enclosures ( vocal booths, sound rooms, practice rooms, broadcast booths, drum booths, etc... ) vocalbooth, vocalbooths, vocal booth, soundroom, soundrooms, sound room

or one of the similar products, if you have the room and cash.
