Recording questions. :)

I am about to make a large investment into recording.. I have been recording with a 16 track fostex for about 4 years, and have recently gotten into computer stuff. Now, I was looking into new drum mics and I need some opinions.... This is the drum mic setup I plan on purchasing

4 shure 57s
1 beta 52 kick mic
2 mxl 993 condensers for overheads

I have also recently acquired Nuendo 3. It is probably the best thing I have ever bought. Any opinions on that compared to pro tools???

also, What does anybody think about the presonus firestudio? I plan on buying that to go along with nuendo... It seems as if it would be a good pair.. I would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

My mate uses that, and has tracked a lot of albums (for local bands) and apperently it's all good..

Don't know anything other than hearsay i'm afraid!

I have a Presonus Firestudio and wholeheartedly recommend it. I use mine with Logic Express but surely it will work with Nuendo.
