It's already here! Some music TuneCore is delivering to iTunes is already in iTunes Plus, which is 256 kbps DRM-free! (And ringtones too!)

Onward, into the future!

Could you please clarify your use of the term "some music"? (ie:, do all Tunecore customer have the option to offer their music in iTunes Plus format?)

Would the people from CDBaby and Nimbit care to comment as well?

Right now, iTunes seems to be chugging through the content TuneCore has delivered them and making it iTunes Plus. It's a conversion process, and they're going to move at their own pace, but we're keeping a close watch.

It's very exciting! For those customers who don't want to be part of iTunes Plus, we work with them. It's very nice!

iTunes is getting ALL of the CD Baby catalog as DRM-free "iTunes Plus".

All new deliveries for the last few months (since they announced it) have been delivered as master FLAC files.

All past songs (over 1.4 million tracks!) are being RE-delivered now to Apple as master FLAC files, so that they can even do our older catalog as DRM-free "iTunes Plus".

It's a massive undertaking. About 25 terabytes of audio. But they requested it, and are working hard to make it happen.
