Ok so ive noticed the thing with cubase 7 is that clicking the deactivate button on a plugin insert actually just bypasses it.
You have to open the plugin interface and click the top right hand blue button to actually deactivate the plugin.
Im not saying this is whats happening...but it may be.
You need to make sure the insert goes from Blue to black..if its a kind of grey then its only in bypass.
It was a lot clearer in 6.5 as there was a bypass and deactivate button each but theres only 1 button aceessable directly from the insert now in c7 and it bypasses and doesn't deactivate. ..
As far as I can tell the only way to actually deactivate a plugin is open its interface and click the blue deactivate button....
There is no way to do this from the insert...
I may be wrong. ..
