Stumped for now but would be happy to take a look at a project file containing a crashing instance?
One possible thing does occur to me though - is Cubase scanning both 64 & 32-bit versions? (Plugin information/VST2 plugin paths)
I set mine up so I keep obsessive levels of control over VST2.x installs as follows:
I created 3 folders on C drive, in the root for ease of access. for the DLL files:
64, 32 and 32 shared. 64-bit just scan 64 & 32, 32-bit hosts scan the 2 32 folders. Obviously 64 bit plugs go in the 64 bit folder, and 32-bit plugs that have no 64-bit version go in the 32 folder leaving 32 shared for those that have a 64-bit version as well.
I cannot for the life of me remember where I read this, but apparently it can cause havoc if both 64 & 32 bit versions of the same plugs are getting scanned.
