Thread Starter | Targeting the consumer home "stereo" of 2005/6
(To Any) Should the modern-day studio really be replacing it's NS-10s with a satellite speakers and a sub? (ducking) Walk into any major electronics store and it's clear that the home listening environment of the 21st century IS through a home theatre system rather than the 2.0 bookshelf set-up the (for ex) NS-10s grew to represent. For instance, walk into the mega-popular Best Buy or Circuit City and it's all home about surround! (You might find a dusty 2.0 stereo set-up in a back corner...) Thoughts on targeting mixes to accomodate the modern-day home listening environment? (Specifically, bass management.) Thanks! |

I'd like to tack something on to this question if I may. How often, when you see a Best Buy level surround system in a non-recording person's home, is it working properly? This is a serious question. |
