Thread Starter | Chord Sound on "Billie Jean"
hi everybody and hi bruce swedien, i cannot believe this forum is existing, this is just like a dream come true to read this background information. thank you so much for this! this is my question - i'm german, so sorry if some words might not fit. What synthesizer do the short played chords in the verses of "billie jean" come from? i have no idea. i 'd like to know for so many years. i never heard this actually quite simple string pad with a little brassy touch on any other record , and every ambitious producer in 1983 i think would have copied and imitated this sound if it was easy to program.....is it -again-two sounds combined? like a moog with a prophet under it? thanx in advance and regards from berlin felix |

I've read that it was four tracks of Yamaha CS80. [edit, forgot to sign...] - Jeff Laity |
