Newell sequence

A question about the Newell sequence... What does the commplete sequence look like?

534435453534435

It looks like it starts repeating at the marked numbers or do you repeat the complete sequence so you get the "534435" twice after each other? Or is the sequence even longer? I couldn't find anything on the subject.

Yes. It is not unique to, or created by Newell. It was shown also in Rettinger's Acoustics and Noise Control published in the seventies! It is an example of alternating absorption diffusion to obtain ~50% between the 2, without too much repetition of reflective surface size causing comb filtering.

Enjoy!

Well balanced,
Andre

OK, I thought Newell invented it but still a bit unclear on the repetition matter.

So, you say yes to "repeat at the green mark" or "repeat after complete sequence" or it doesn't matter.
