| Gear addict | Cheap fabric option for panels?
IKEA, $2.99 right now for a 2'x10' for a 100% sheer polyester panel curtain. Would already been stitched along the sides, lots of color options, you could literally wrap a 2'x4' rockwool sheet from top to bottom and stitch it up. Even has a pocket for a curtain rod for easy hanging: FLYN LILL Panel curtain - IKEA Would you even need the wooden frame for broadband panels on the walls? |

| I like your idea, I'm just wondering what Glenn is wondering.. If the curtain panel is exactly 2 feet wide and the rockwool sheet is 2 feet wide, how do you have the material to stitch the sides once it's folded in half?

I used low thread count flat sheets from IKEA for my fabric. Its been a while but I think I covered 2 2X4 panels with one sheet and they were around $4. |

i would honestly spend the extra money and make sure the fabric is fire-resistant. there are many online treatment stores that sell fabric if you cannot source locally. |

yes i agree, the thought of polyester hanging around above lights and electrical shenanigans is uncomfortable to me... in the UK the standard seems to be BS (british standard, not B.S.!) "BS 7175 Source 7", "the flaming combustion must self extinguish in a pre-defined time as the fabric retracts away from the flame and self extinguishes." e.g. this sort of thing: http://beddingmarts.co.uk/flame-****...lat-sheet.html which might be a little too thick at 145gsm? or this: http://www.online-fabrics.co.uk/Fabr...Polyester-IFR# and this stuff is waterproof too: http://www.freedomhealthcare.co.uk/t...prod_code=7964 which is all supposed to perform like this when over a flame: http://youtu.be/vqrl5UoTlb0 |

perhaps more relevant british standards (the above was for bedding ?!) BS5867 - curtains... BS7176 BS5852 - contract upholstery... anyone found a good fire-standards material you can blow through in the uk? |
