your thoughts on these bass traps

2 Acoustic Foam 3ft (915mm) Bass Traps AFBT02 Professional Studio Treatment | eBay

they are cheap but are they any good do you think?

the company selling them on ebay also does a lot of other cheap panels and such

the sizes are just right for my small room but I don't wan't to wast my money if its crap stuff

For bass traps I like to fill both the corners of your mixing wall from floor to ceiling.

These foam things can help a little, but they don't have the low frequency absorption of rockwul or fiberglass. If you want great bass traps, foam is not an option.

In general you should hit all of your early reflection points from your mix position: The corners, the walls to your left and right, and directly above you.

The corners need more density, so thicker treatment than your overhead and L/R points.

The main issue with foam bass traps like that is that they are too small to be effective below about 200Hz -- and that's assuming they are really made of real acoustic foam (many products like this are not).

Bottom line, these won't hurt you, but may not give you the performance you are looking for.

Avoid

It works for some of flutter echo and what not, but your money is better servers building your own treatment.
