BTW to give you a little perspective on what you are going for I just did some tests of our Monster Bass trap. My goal was to get as much out of 8 of them with 4 panels for early reflection points. See the following.

Here is my 13x17x8 foot test room empty.

As you can see there is dips and nulls with ringing all over the place, kind of like your room now but you have absorbed some of the upper bass/mids.

Here is a room with proper bass trapping but note this is only 6 straddling corners with 2 on the back wall.

Even though straddling corners is more about improving the decay time (as you see above) you can also see a huge improvement in the frequency response here.

Red is the treated response
