an inch or two hanging diffrence bass traps

Cant seem to get my bass traps even with each other. I have 2 bass traps 2 x 4. Each are hanging wall to ceiling lengthwise. One trap is touching the ceiling and wall flush... the other trap not touching the ceiling about 1 to 2 inches... does this make a significant difference?
thank you

What are you hanging them with to get uneven results? You can get smaller jack chain which would be very useful for that - just use the same amount of links on every hook and you'll be good.

You will get different results depending on how thick the absorbers are, what the material inside is, and how far they are spaced from the wall/ceiling. An inch or two off from one of the corners would be hard to "guess" how different they would be. It could enhance it, or might work against it in certain scenarios..

I'm using wire much like a picture frame and single ancor hooks with plastic type extra support for the screw hooks on the ceiling. Im using Owens 703 4 inch thick per trap. Each trap has a basic wood frame and are covered with speaker cloth. The ceiling is cottage cheese so it's hard to move the anchors once placed.

Can you retension the picture hanging wire, or reposition where this is attached to the frame?

Gonna try to retention wire although I think I d have to move the ceiling hook to the same spot as the trap that seems to be hung correctly... I was hoping I had originally put the hook at the same distance but apparently not. Thanks

Cable Ties

I use Plastic Cable Ties. Adjustable and they don't go as wire can do.
