Corner Bass Trap Wall Distance Question

So here is the front of my studio:




This is a closer picture of the left bass trap: It is 6" thick




Now this is behind it and how far away from the wall it is:


We're talking at max the center is 22" from the wall. Is this bad? Does the distance diminish the traps effectiveness?

Also, what if I put a few bags of the pink fluffy there to fill the gap? Would I benefit from it at all? I've read that it helps the super low freqs

I am sure they are working fine. The thing you might be thinking about (or read about) is having the sides of the panel touching each side wall which will create a "spring" action, but if you built them with wood frames then you have that going on anyway. If you want to really know if it is effecting it then you could test the room with and without it tight to the wall.
