gobo + booth?

checked all over for something like this, couldnt find something specific enough. -

First: I'm going to build this - DIY: $10 Microphone GOBO - Sound Dampener Shield - YouTube
How do i mount it? Mic clip and gooseneck?

Second: i have a 6' tall maple box (hutch) that is deep & wide enough for me to throw some safe n' sound panels in at angle. If i do so i can fully isolate a mic stand in there with the gobo behind the mic as well -with some panels behind me in my little nook. would this be effective in anyway for decent vocal tracking?

Or should i skip the box?

I'm looking to do the exact same thing. Have you figured it out yet?

I read somewhere that someone just used zip ties to secure it to the mic stand. Not sure how sturdy that would be.

Definitely not much, and not for long.

From the looks of the final build picture, it seems like the DIY shield is clamped in between the plosive shield clamp and the clamp of the mic spider. The downside in this case is, that you only have a certain maximum range of a microphone height.

Else, I like the idea. Much ligher than the DIY mic shields I built out of thin steel (and my stepdad helped welding nuts on this thing as "holding mechanism"). But... so far I haven't seen metal (aluminum) paint bucket grids over here in Germany. And the video is also very shallow on building that thing in general (like: how to bend the metal to connect both grids, etc).

I ended up getting an iso-shield from ebay. Great deal, decent build (PVC frame) and free shipping. Nice guy (and musician) too, which helps.
