Thread Starter | DIY stand for 3-part hinged acoustic panel?
A while back I built a hinged acoustic panel, similar to the GIK screen panels shown below, but with 3 parts instead of 2. ![]() In mine, the middle panel is 2' x 5' x 1" and the end panels are 1' x 5' x 1". I know the dimensions are sort of strange, but I was working with scrap OC 703 pieces I got for free. At the time I was recording vocals sitting down, and there was plenty of vertical space to place the mic a few inches above my head level (my preferred location) and still have it below the top of the panel. Now, however, I'm recording operatic vocals standing up, and since I'm over 5' tall the mic is way above the panels. Does anyone have any stand & bracket suggestions to raise my hinged panel up about a foot? I've seen stands on some of the commercially available products like GIK and RealTraps, but I've never seen one on a hinged panel. Thanks in advance, ~Blu

I think you would just be better off to make legs for the panels. Either that or figure out how to strap it to a microphone stand.
