17"x17"x24"x8' Superchunk - Is a mistake?

I use Roxul Safe n Sound ( 2.5 lbs/ft3 ) to build my 17"x17"x24"x8' superchunk

Is 17"x17"x24" larger enough???

Mine will be 17 inch in width, 8.26 inch in depth and 63 inch in height with denser material (16kg/m3) so why a mistake ?.

I was thinking that a superchunk build with rockwool like the roxul sound n safe need more thickness. So i'm afraid that my 17x17x24 is not enough

Check my tread, post 16. Gasflow resistivety Vs density.

You'll see the depth off the triangle i'll use and next to it a calculation off what it might abosrb. While its only 1.0 lbs/ft3 off fibreglass.

Sorry, I am not SAC. The "regular stuff" will be better. Not by much, definitely better.

Definitely,
Andre

Just "make" the panels , anything between 32 and 64 will be fine . 24" faced chunks are great, not enough for very low frequencies (IME) - but you always can add a 4" or thicker panel in front of it when possible, making an excellent and better system that will reduce decay times down to 40hz or so. The 34" faced superchunks are obviously better, but takes the double of material and money ... for these , 16kg/m3 should works very well.

17"x17''x24'' was my first idea .... but finally I made 24''x24''x34'' ..... soo I think it was a good idea to change to 34" faced superchunk ... thanks for the reply

If you have checked my thread you'd know you'll be safe.
My room is only 1.90m widt by 4m long or so, and my traps will be 30cm by 33cm (will make full use off a panel) with a facing off 45cm and depth 22 cm.

This might not be a SUPER chunk but if you compare it to my room then you'll see it is big. I'll post pics off the building and when they are up in my room.

Chunks all depend on your room size and budget.

Sure making them larger is never a bad thing but the size you made them will work very well in the low end. Keep moving forward!!

I just posted my 24x17x17 super-chunks made out of Roxul Safe-n-Sound. I haven't measured response yet, but audibly they are working quite well:
