Thread Starter | Whats the biggest Quadratic Residue Diffuser thats ever been built?
QRDude goes up all the way to N101...and wow it looks epic. from the pics of all the QRD builds i have seen, i think the biggest i have seen is low 40's edit: i dont know if ganging them together side by side counts....like instead of builidng an N43 in one piece...split it up into 3 pieces.. |

| If the definition of ”big” is determined by the number of wells (without repetition), this is quite “big”: ![]() 96 “wells” (stepped), 2,4 meters wide. Not a QRD though, it’s an optimized shape. Predicted performance using BEM-modeling: |

| ![]() I read about it somewhere but can't find it now. Based on something mind boggling, like the prime number 100 thousand something. |

| It looks like both sets of speakers are low enough that they won't be reflecting off of the console face to a listening sitting or even standing in front of the console. The larger set of speakers definitely appears to be situated this way.

The speakers are actually a good 4-5 feet back from the console, not directly in front. The room was George Massenberg's and I can guarantee you, he is fully cognisant of the placement of his speakers and their potential effects on his mixes. I have mixed in that room and can guarantee that there are no reflections from the console. The most unbelievable sounding room I have ever been in. The first moment I walked in, he had me close my eyes and wandered me around the room, you have no idea how close you were to any walls, all spots were totally neutral...NOT dead...just neutral. Astonishing room, both in form and function.
