Rotten fiberglass?

So, one of my OC 703 panels suddenly started smelling today. Bad. It's possible, though unlikely, a bit of rain got in from an open window and wet a small part of it, but otherwise nothing has changed in its placement, environment, etc. And plus the entire (4x2) panel smells, not just the small section which may have gotten drizzled on. Can these things suddenly start to rot (or something) with no apparent cause? Anything I should try? I'd hate to have to trash it.

Thanks!

"Fiberglass" Does not rot. But it can be contaminated from outside sources.
Example: If you dipped a fiberglass panel into sewage, the gass would not
smell, but rather it is the material trapped within the glass matrix that is causing smell.

If you used wood for the frame and covered the panel with a "natural" fabric,
then it would be the wood and fabric that are causing the odor.

A simple fix would to pull the panels apart, spray or soak the fiberglass liberally with
a 50/50 solution of bleach and water; let it sit for 30 minutes; rinse; let dry
in the sun.

Pull the fabric off the frame and bleach the fame also. No need to rinse off
the frame, just let it stand and dry out. Repeat if necessary. After it is dry,
give it a light sanding, and prime it with Kiltz Original oil base primer (I
like the spray can).

As for the fabric. If you can salvage the fabric wash it. If not, recover the
fame with new fabric. (This is why I like Guilford Of Maine FR 701 fabric. It's
synthetic and does not rot.)
