Thread Starter | Hanging GIK panels
Okay, so today I'm starting to hang about 25 GIK panels, some on the walls, some from an angled ceiling, and some from a flat ceiling. I know I can use eye hooks, but then I'm not sure how to get the panels flush against the ceiling. Someone suggested there is some sort of cleat system, whereby you can mount cleats on the ceiling and panels and then just slide the panels in. Is it even necessary/desirable to have the panels flush? If they hang down a bit does that look too DIY and does it make a difference soundwise? Thanks, -R |

Btw, this is the plan, looking from below straight up. The red ones are the big bass traps and the green ones are 242's. The ones with the wood slats are a custom product that hang like 242's. Thanks, -R |

First of all when you start hanging them and have any trouble CALL US right away. The nice part of buying a finished product is you can get one on one support. ![]() Ok for the ceiling. You can use L-Brackets to hang it flush but to be honest with you I would recommend hanging from the eye hooks a couple inches down. It truly will help absorb more low end. As far as the side walls it should hang flush with using the picture wire and eye hooks.

btw, did I say I'm excited! One other question. I have 4 D1 diffusors, two white and two black. Is there a certain kind of paint I can put on the white ones to make them match the black? (as per Jeff's recommendation I just ordered 2 QRD's) -R |

Install creeping along. We're just hanging the eye hooks right onto the ceiling hooks. Meticulous work, but looking good. But with just 8 monster traps and 4 242's installed it already seems like my monitoring system has acquired a new subwoofer! -R |

Btw, it sure would make the install easier if you guys mounted your eye hooks in exactly the same spot on each panel. Then we could just do a template and pop them up. -R |
