Random Find, Dirt Cheap. Good Diffuser?

Found 4 of these things for very cheap. Not built as acoustic panel, but is shape conducive to diffusion? Gut reaction was to use on the back wall of a control room. They are pretty heavy, made of wood chips but pretty solid. About 4' X 4'.

Thoughts? Other useful applications?

A few of those and some plywood would make a great drum riser.

They might break up sound a bit but it is not a diffusor and would NOT recommend something like that on the back wall. See the following to really understand how diffusion works.
