Acoustic Baffle Question

On the website The Home of Record Better Audio.com there is a video on how to record acoustic guitars. In the video the guy has built acoustic baffles that he uses to isolate the mic from the room. Will this type of baffle system eliminate bad sounds from a small room such as the bass frequency buildup, etc. It looks like an easy fix for a bad sounding room.

Does anyone know about how well these work?

They are kind of like a vocal booth but for acoustic guitar. I appreciate any input.

It's the video where they are recording with the Rode NT5 and Rode Nt1a.

Those are also called "gobos".

Generally, gobos will have a solid back - like plywood. This makes them less effective as bass traps.

but if I made gobos without solid backs would that work? If the backs were just like the fronts?

Up against a wall, they work fine without backs. If you are putting them between a guitar amp and drums, they work better with the backs.

"gobo" is short for go-between... That is originally how they were used.

In a small room should I just bass trap everything and make the whole room pretty dead including the ceiling? Will this give a good acoustic guitar sound as well be good for vocals?

I already have bass traps made from rockwool that have foil facing covered by cloth and I have a lot of Denim insulation for superchunk traps too. Is it possible to balance the room's bass problems by treating all the corners?
