On the open source free side of things: inkscape, google sketchup, gimp

Or if you are willing to pay: illustrator, photoshop, corel draw

Face the short wall and start by sitting 38% of the room length. You may find moving forward or back from that spot will give you a better response. Treat corners with bass trapping and thinner panels for early reflection points. See the following for a layout of acoustics.

thanks for the advice, but I have another question. I went to the link you sent me and you only bass trapped thevertical corners. What about the sides on the room that have a 45 degree angle? Should they be bass trapped too. Thanks

Yes the more corners you treat the better the low end response. Most people start floor to ceiling it front and back corners but you can treat any corner you can.

Where would i put diffusiors in the room. I have been reading you but them on the rear of the room. Thre problem is the rear of the room is where the windows are at. Will that cause a problem? I just bought some bass traps and now i am bout to by some acoustic foam. should i get some panels also or just foam will be ok? Sorry to ask all these questions, but being in a room like this is new to me so im trying to get some advice from someone more knowledgable.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I should but diffusors in this room. My room is 15' long, the back wall is 2 1/2' high, the slanted wall is 7', and the ceiling is 5'. I did not know how to write measurments for a polygon, bear with me. I have pics of the room in this post. Help would be greatly apprieciated.
