would folded twinwall corrugated plastic sheet for QRD

Any feeback about the idea of folding a flat sheet of corrugated twinwall plastic into the well sizes defined by QRDude?

The soundscapes people folded sheetmetal, but it produced ringing.
I think the plastic would accomplish the same idea but be reflective without the ringing.

SoundScapeS WaveWeaver -- QRD-diffusers.

It's easy to cut one of the walls making it foldable. The space under the walls could be filled with a slurry of ground newspaper+water (cheap and lightweight), which would harden into cardboard fibers beneath the plastic under the wells (rear side of the QRD.) Using this slurry would ensure that all of the empty space behind the well were filled. Perhaps sawdust could be added to the slurry to make it harder.

The plastic is easy to cut, light weight, and reflective (it was said in this forum that wood should be used because it's reflective, styrofoam should not be used because it's absorbent.)

One would put the folded twinwall corrugated plastic sheet inside an wooden frame of the appropriate depth. After the filled backside of the DIY cardboard hardened, one would put a hardboard back on it, sealed to this wooden frame with GE Silicone II.

Thanks.

And just how do you propose forming and joining the material?

And are you proposing disregarding the well partitions?

If you are interested in going that route, any of the more rigid Foamcore/Gatorboard options would most likely work better and be easily worked. Or for that matter, simple thin 3/16" MDF would be both more rigid and cheaper.

I would also suggest a low density foam instead of any cellulose based damping.
