Change Auralex LENRDS to OC703 or equivalent

It's a 4X4 booth, most of the walls have ATS 4" thick acoustic panels--2" thick cloud on the ceiling.

In the corners, floor to ceiling, have been Auralex LENRD bass traps.

On a whim I removed several of the traps and the sound seemed to improve, but there is still some boxiness that has to be addressed (the LENRDS seemed to address the boxiness, but also sucked the life out)

So, would ATS 4" panels across the corners, almost floor to ceiling, be a better alternative?

Or would it be better to simply cover the wall space comprising the corners, instead of just putting one panel across the corner in the manner of a bass trap?

Thanks Slutz!

Probably, but 4'x4'x8' just isn't much space to work with. You may not have the room to do the corners.

A 4' x4' room has fundamental modes at ~140Hz. 4" thick panels should be thick enough to absorb effectively down to that frequency. HOWEVER, the vertical mode is considerably lower and will not be controlled by 4" absorbers. Investigate absorbers that are effective down to the vertical mode frequency. This is where your boxiness is coming from.
