Roxul RHT and RW

I want to build some broadband panels with 4'' of acoustic material inside a wooden frame and 2'' gap.

I can't find the OC703 in Mexico, only the 704 and 702... but I have found a dealer that sells Roxul RHT and RW series.

So... which density am I looking for?

RHT and RW 60 density is 6.0 lbs/ft3 (nominal)
RHT and RW 80 density is 8.0 lbs/ft3 (nominal)

Is RHT better than RW because it's more rigid?

What you guys think?

TIA

Rigidity is a question of handling and mounting. The 6.0lb/ft3 is better.

Thanks Andre.

I've been reading your posts about gas flow resistance. So would the 40 in 4'' be even better than the 60?

Yes. You did not ask it, so I did not mention it.

Thanks!

That is great because the rw40 is 20% cheaper than the rw60 here in Mexico.
