New Writing Room--- NEED HELP!

Hi Guys.. Just moved into a new room and need some advice on room treatment.

The bummer is I am only going to be in this room for 6 months then I will look for another house with potential for a live room.

For now.. this is what I've got ( See pics).

There are basically 3 recessed areas behind where I propose to put the speakers. The ceiling is pretty low and it has wooden floors. So I'm assuming I've got some problems to deal with here......

Here are the basic measurements of the room:

340L x 310W x 200H and the recessed areas are 30CM deep.

Any help fully appreciated to the max!

I'm facing the same problem you have... small temporary room for composition.

After a bit of researching it seems the best solution are broadband panels made of fiber glass/rock whool. Than maybe add some diffusers at some strategic points.

Take a look at this long thread fore more info

Thanks man.. useful thread

I am not mixing in this room. I am just writing, arranging and recording the synth parts. The rest I am recording and mixing in a commercial studio. But it is really important to have fairly accurate idea of how the song fits together..

How should I deaden this room down? Put bass traps in all the recesses? Put the chair on a rug? Put acoustic panels over my head?

All ideas welcome...

What's your budget?
How much space are you willing to sacrifice?
