Freestanding panels/gobos - height question

I'm building a couple free standing panels to use in my project studio..

They will be used behind/beside the performer when doing vocals, strings, acoustic guitar, basically everything..

They're gonna go up about 6.5 feet. If the panel is only 5 feet, with 1.5 feet of legs between it and the floor, do you think this would have much negative impact on their effect?

I mean, maybe performing lower to the floor..on some bongo drums or something?

I could make the panels 6x2, but 5x2' with longer legs would be better if the function is the same.

How about making a bunch of smaller ones that you could stack like legos?
Could be more versatile and easier to build. Just a thought..

i was gonna build a bunch of gobo's based on some that i used at a studio a few summers ago. They we're great, tall with glass for the performers to see each other etc.

At the local Habitat for Humanity I found a BUNCH of old school dividers with funky fabric. Instead of spending $1000 plus MAKING the gobo's I always dreamed of I settled on these 7 gobo's that I got for.... $70.

They get the job done though. I don't use them all the time but when I do they do what gobo's are supposed to do.... great for my big room when I want a less roomy vocal or want to keep the drums out of a guitar mic and the like.
