Adding clouds into basement joists concern

My basement studio is very short. (6'4")
I'd like to to pull down the wood slats that make my ceiling & put Roxell in the joist spaces (9" space) & cover with material. My question is...
If I put 3"-4" deep of insulation, this will leave 5"-6" of joist exposed every 16" of my ceiling. Won't this cause new reflection or resonance issues?? I don't think stuffing the entire joist depth is financally doable at this point or if it would even make sense to go 9" deep??

Then do as you indicated and simply wrap absorption /around the joists surfaces.

I wasn't thinking about wrapping the joists. Hmm, get some padded leather like those old Kustom amps! LOL
I was going to simply stuff the space & spread some sort of cloth across the ceiling. (bottom of the joists)

That would look really hip... In a late 60' & early 70's sort of kitsch...

Of course it would be worthless acoustically, but you'd have the aesthetics down! Use ABSORPTION!

Now, if you just visit Graceland and can copy the pink shag carpet and then scatter a few sunflower-y and smiley face appliques about... Just rent a copy of a Laugh In episode and copy the set...
