Fluffy Insulation or Rigid for Superchunks?

I am curious if fluffy insulation would work just as good as the triangle shaped 703 rigid fiberglass for corner superchunks? I already have corner traps installed. They are homemade 7x2ft frames with ultratouch cotton inside with a fabric covering. They are straddled on each corner. I don't think I am getting enough low-end coverage below 80hz, so thought I'd stuff insulation behind the traps, preferably the fluffy kind to save time from cutting the triangles out of 703 panels.

Will fluffy insulation work as good as rigid if it's packed tight? If so, which is the best kind of fluffy insulation to get to fill the corners?

Thanks,
Josh

It is hard to say if it works as "good" BUT stuffing the fluffy stuff behind the panels has proven to work well, so I would go that route.

For deep bass absorbers, like superchunks, fluffy is better than teh genereic rigid material. From what you have written, the problem is not what the superchunk is doing, but either not having enough, or the dominant modes that you are hearing are not in the plane you have the superchunks in.

Thanks guys. Does it matter which type of fluffy insulation I get, or is it more important that it's packed tight?

Thanks,
Josh

It is important to NOT pack it tight. Leave it loose.

Ok, thank you Avare. My plan will be to fill the cavity behind the panels but just not where it's a tight fit.

Thanks.
