behind the couch

would packing rockwool behind the airspace of the chesterfield sofa be any use in my small control room? also would putting a heavy throw over the leather help? thanks!

you have to be canadian, we yanks barely know what a chesterfield is

and it would help. the more rockwool on that back wall, i bet, the better.

and the throw over the leather would help with reflections above 2k or so.

niced studio btw! just checked out your site its cool. before i pop off - would you put a diffuser opposite the monitors in front of the rockwool or just broadband absorb? the room is pretty small but i've heard it can keep it from sounding less dead.

That would only help if someone was sitting on the leather couch. As you can get comb filtering off leather like that. If the couch is a few feet (I would think around 5 feet or so) from the mix spot then I don't think it would benefit the mix spot.

the couch is about 3-4 feet away - maybe some cushions and stuff as well. i'm guessing comb filtering is undesirable i'll go read up on it. I'm just working my way through the info on this forum (it's amazing). Is there a simple way to describe comb filtering?
